August 27, 2012 @ 6:30 PM
For all children growing up is an ongoing process of change that involves losses as well as gains. For some children (and families) the experience of loss can be sudden or unexpected (such as death, divorce, or incarceration). This workshop is designed to support those that care for children in a personal or professional setting. This workshop will introduce children’s understanding of loss, discuss how children of various ages display grief. This session will focus more specifically on children who may be removed from the home and put in foster care, shuttled to friends of the family or relatives, have attachment needs, chaotic home lives, and/or have adjustment issues. We will provide tips and strategies for supporting children during this confusing or stressful time.
