The New Year's Eve "party with a purpose" is intended as an alternative
to the usual New Year's party scene. It seeks to provide a reality check
on the state of the world while maintaining a positive and pro-active attitude.

The term "New Year's Resovolution" comes from the title of a Donovan song
which combines the concepts of Resolution and Revolution. In this sense, the
revolution is not a political one, but one of personal awakening. There's
more to democracy than occasional voting. Ultimately, the goal of this event
is to set the tone for 2008 by encouraging greater civic and community involvement.
Small actions can make a big difference. It's never too late to make the world a better place.
